Objective: The objective is “to provide technical assistance and strengthen the capacity of the EACCA in order to fulfil its mandate as an institution and effectively implement EAC regional competition policy.

Senior Competition expert – Team Leader: CAT I – 406 mds + 25 mds homebased
Qualifications and skills required:
- A completed university studies of at least 3 years, attested by a diploma/degree in the area of law or economics or other related fields. In its absence, 5 years of equivalent general professional experience in addition to that indicated below (minimum requirement).
General professional experience:
- At least 12 years of relevant professional experience in the field of competition matters(minimum requirement)
Specific professional experience: •
- At least 4 years of experience in enforcement of competition law (minimum requirement) preferably at a national or regional competition authority or a multilateral/regional organisation (preferred).
- Previous experience in drafting legal texts or in legislative drafting (minimum requirement), ideally in competition matters (preferred).
- Previous experience in providing capacity building within institutions or among stakeholders on competition policy or competition law enforcement (minimum requirement).
- Previous experience in dealing with the substantive and procedural issues that arise in competition law and regulatory enforcement (minimum requirement).
- Previous experience on competition matters specifically on handling or investigating cases in sub-Saharan Africa would be an advantage (preferred).
Language skills:

Antitrust and Cartel Expert: CAT II 173 mds + 15 mds homebased
Qualifications and skills required:
- A completed university studies of at least 3 years, attested by a diploma/degree in the area of law, economics, finance, business administration or other related fields. In its absence, 5 years of equivalent general professional experience in addition to that indicated below (minimum requirement).
General professional experience:
- At least 6 years of professional experience in the field of competition matters (minimum requirement).
Specific professional experience:
- At least 2 years of working experience in dealing with mergers and acquisition matters (minimum requirement),
- Previous working experience in competition matters (minimum requirement) preferably at a national or regional competition authority or multilateral organisation (preferred).
- Previous experience in carrying out research or market inquiry in relation to competition enforcement (minimum requirement).
- Previous experience in investigating competition cases or handling competition cases (minimum requirement).
- Previous capacity building within institutions or among stakeholders on competition policy and law enforcement would be an advantage (preferred).
Language skills:
