Name of the project:   Support to the Office of the Vice-President on Youth and Job Creation

Place of Performance:  Nigeria 

Objective: The objective of this action is to pursue the creation of new green and smart jobs for the youth through enhancement of employability, entrepreneurship and improvement of innovation and digitalisation.

Duration: 24 months

Key expert 1: Strategic Partnership Lead – Cat II Expert 500 mds

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following areas: political sciences, public administration, business administration, or any other relevant fields; 
  • Excellent ability to cultivate relationships and build robust connections and relationships with stakeholders, partners, and clients through a blend of stakeholders’ knowledge, empathy, and active listening. 
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Strong analytical and management skills, including sound knowledge of strategic planning and project management tools. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment. 
  • A good understanding of how governments, businesses and international development organisations operate. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. 

General professional experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience at national or international level in developing and managing strategic partnerships, preferably with international development organizations. 

Specific professional experience:

  • Proven record of crafting and executing partnership strategies, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and achieving growth objectives. Demonstrated understanding of the international development landscape in Nigeria. Demonstrated understanding of youth employment and job creation opportunities and challenges. Proven record of building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse stakeholders at a senior level. Previous work experience at the centre of government in Nigeria is desired but not compulsory. 

Language skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of one or more other languages spoken in Nigeria is desired but not compulsory. 

Key Expert 2 Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead: Cat II 500 mds

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following areas: political sciences, public administration, business administration, or any other relevant fields;
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and foster relationships across a wide range of diverse and senior stakeholders;
  • Strong analytical and management skills, including sound knowledge of strategic planning and project management tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment.
  • A good understanding of how governments, businesses and international development organisations operate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to operate and succeed in a highly political environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to use own initiative and actively look for opportunities to have an impact rather than simply be reactive 

General professional experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience at national or international level in developing Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks on a programme, complex project or institution 

Specific professional experience:

  • Experience with developing Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks that result in the delivery of outcomes. Demonstrated strong monitoring and evaluation skills, including data monitoring and planning/participating in evaluations Demonstrated understanding of youth employment and job creation opportunities and challenges. Experience contributing to successful funding proposals for donors would be an asset Previous work experience at the centre of government in Nigeria is desired but not compulsory. 

Language skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of English. Knowledge of one or more other languages spoken in Nigeria is desired but not compulsory.
