Role of BK Plus Europe: Consortium Leader (Coordinator)
Objective: The project addresses the urgent cybersecurity skills gap across Europe, driven by the digital transformation and the implementation of new EU-wide regulations, including the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act. It aims to enhance the capacity of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET/VET) sector to deliver up-to-date training and to directly upskill Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), which are increasingly vulnerable to cyber threats. As the consortium leader, BK Plus Europe is responsible for the overall project coordination (WP1), financial oversight, and quality assurance. BK Plus also leads the development of the core “Cybersecurity Training & Capacity Building”program (WP3), which targets both VET educators and SME stakeholders. The project will analyze national skills gaps (WP2), create a comprehensive VET Training Curricula and Toolkit for educators (WP3), and deploy an innovative gamified e-learning platform with a serious game to simulate real-world cyber threats (WP4). By strengthening the link between VET providers and the private sector, CYBER-UP will build a resilient “community of practice” and deliver key policy recommendations (WP5) to ensure European SMEs and their workforce are secure, compliant, and competitive.
