Study Visit in Riga: Crafting Skills for Heritage Preservation 🇱🇻✨

Our project “Preparing the Past for the Future” just wrapped up a truly inspiring study visit in Riga, Latvia (03–07 November 2025).

Hosted by the wonderful team at Rīgas Mākslas un Mediju Tehnikums 🇱🇻, partners from Cyprus, Moldova, Poland and Latvia came together to see how VET can keep traditional crafts – and historic buildings – alive.

Throughout the week, participants:
• discovered hands-on approaches to heritage-focused VET
• joined woodworking and metal art workshops in real training environments
• visited restoration sites in the Zemgale region, seeing how skills translate into living heritage

The visit strengthened our network and our shared goal: using VET to give young people solid professional skills and protect Europe’s cultural heritage.
