๐๐ฑ Unlocking Kosovoโs Energy Future ๐ฝ๐ฐ
On 18 December 2025, we organised the workshop โ๐๐ง๐ฅ๐จ๐๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฏ๐จโ๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐: ๐ ๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ญ๐๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ 2030 ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐งโ in Prishtina, Kosovo.
The event took place within the framework of the ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ ๐จ๐ง ๐ ๐ข๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฐ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ข๐๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฏ๐จ, conducted by BK Plus Europe as part of the Energy Transition and Climate Mitigation in Kosovo Project.
The project is implemented by LuxDev โ the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency, in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of Kosovo, and funded by the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ๐ฑ๐บ.
๐ค The workshop brought together representatives from the Ministries of Economy and Finance, the Central Bank of Kosovo, national energy authorities, international donors, as well as private banks and investment funds โ highlighting the importance of coordination across the public and private sectors.
๐ Our project experts presented an evidence-based analysis on financing Kosovoโs green energy transition for 2025โ2030. The discussion focused on how existing capital can be mobilised more effectively through stronger coordination, an integrated financial architecture, and proven regional solutions.
โก One of the key challenges addressed was the current financing gap: while Kosovoโs energy transition is already underway โ driven by growing prosumer uptake, improving energy intensity and expanding renewable capacity โ capital is not yet reaching projects at scale, despite more than โฌ650 million in committed funding from public, donor and financial institutions.
๐ The transition is happening. With continued support and effective coordination, Kosovo is well positioned to unlock and further strengthen its green finance ecosystem for a sustainable energy future.
